Bengaluru, August 31: The Karnataka Premier League is all set to take off with a swashbuckling opening ceremony ahead of the tournament-opener between Hubli Tigers and Belagavi Panthers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday (September 1).

The ceremony will be headlined by Kannada actor Puneet Rajkumar, alongside the likes of actor Sharmiela Mandre, singer Sangeetha Raju, among other glitterati. The ceremony, scheduled to start at 5.45pm, will also see players from each team take to the field together.

The ceremony will also see the KPL go hand-in-hand with the Isha Foundation for the cause of bettering the rivers across India.

The foundation, through its campaign Rally for Rivers, has sought to reach out to the masses through various platforms.

The KPL boasts of a sizeable following and is in line with the Isha Foundation's aim of improving the condition of India's geographical wonders, making it a partnership to cherish.

With an aim to spread the message, the players will hold up Rally for Rivers placards on Friday (September 1) ahead of the tournament opening encounter between Hubli Tigers and Belagavi Panthers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Each of the stands will also have volunteers from the Isha Foundation, holding placards and spreading the message.
