Lahore Qalandars are fighting to stay relevant in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League as they take on Multan Sultans in their final home match of the season at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday (February 27).
They couldn't have asked for a tougher challenge as they face table toppers Multan Sultans, who have won four of their five matches to put themselves in a commanding position midway through PSL 2024.
Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars battled valiantly against Peshawar but lost their sixth game by eight runs. In contrast, Multan, under Rizwan's leadership, defeated Quetta Gladiators, the team atop the league, in their most recent encounter by a margin of 13 runs. Each team is in this game with the intention of winning.
The two players who score the most runs for the Qalandars are Sahibzada Farhan (72 runs off 45 balls) and Rassie van der Dussen (104 runs off 52 balls). Shaheen Afridi, who took 3/33 against Peshawar Zalmi, looked impressive. In the upcoming match, these players can be extremely important to the Lahore team.
