LPL 2023: Former India player Suresh Raina to be part of auction, base price revealed

Former India player Suresh Raina will be taking part in the upcoming Lanka Premier League. The left-handed batter has already signed up for the tournament and will be going under the hammer.

The auction is set to take place on June 14 and the former Chennai Super Kings player is one of the overseas players who will take part.

The fourth edition of LPL this year is set to bring an Indian Premier League-style auction and more than 500 players have registered for it, including 140 overseas players. The tournament is set to commence on July 30 and will conclude on August 20.

Raina's base price set at USD 50,000 and on the auction, five LPL franchises will bid to pick the players to represent their franchises at this year's tournament.

Raina announced his retirement from international cricket in September 2022. The 36-year-old took part in the recent Abu Dhabi T10 tournament and scored 36 runs across the matches. He also took part in the Legends League Cricket and was seen in a commentator role in the Indian Premier League 2023 season.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam and South Africa's hard-hitting bater David Miller are among the overseas stars confirmed to feature in the LPL 2023.
