Eight Pakistan players were bought by the LPL teams for the upcoming season 5 during the Lanka Premier League 2024 Auction, which took place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo on Tuesday (May 21).
The fifth edition of the LPL is scheduled to be held from July 1 to 21 and will feature five teams competing for the silverware. Before that, the five teams - B-Love Kandy, Colombo Strikers, Galle Titans, Dambulla Thunders and Jaffna Kings added to their squads at the auction.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), 420 players, including 154 from Sri Lanka and 266 from overseas, had registered for the player auction for the LPL 2024. Some players were also retained ahead of the LPL 2024 auction.
In total 8 Pakistan players will be part of the next edition of Lanka Premier League. All-rounder Shadab Khan was retained by Colombo Strikers and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris was retained by B-Love Kandy before the bidding process.
Meanwhile seven others were picked up at the auction. Right-arm pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr was signed by Colombo Strikers for $20,000 while Dambulla Thunders signed Iftikhar Ahmed for $50,000, and Haider Ali for $25,000.
Defending champions B-Love Kandy backed their overseas Pakistan signings by roping in wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan for $50,000, pacer Mohammad Hasnain for $30,000, pacer Mohammad Ali for $10,000 and all-rounder Salman Ali Agha for $10,000.
