Sri Lanka has launched Lanka T10, a ten-over franchise tournament which is set to be played later this year.
The Island country has thus become the second ICC full member to launch a T10 league. Sri Lanka already host the Lanka Premier League, T20 version of the franchise tournament. According to reports, a women's Lanka T10 is also being discussed and may well be played alongside the men's tournament.

"Cricket has been continuing to evolve and T10 is the latest form to enter the fray, and is becoming a popular format in the game. We are delighted to be a part of this newer venture, and are confident that the initial version of Lanka T10 will be a success story,'' the SLC president Shammi Silva said in a press release.
The Lanka T10 is set to be played from December 12 and will continue till December 23 in 2023.
The Lanka T10 player auction will be held on November 10. The registration has already opened and will continue till November 5.
There will be six teams participating in the Lanka T10 tournament, which will be named after six Sri Lankan cities.
The tentative names of the cities are - Colombo, Jaffna, Galle, Kandy, Dambulla and Hambantota.
