A brand-new cricket league, the Legends Intercontinental T20 League, has been launched by Brosid Sports LLC, a USA-based company in New Delhi.

The T20 competition, involving cricketing superstars from yesteryears, is set to take place from August 16 to 29, 2024, at the Moosa Stadium in Texas, USA. This league will feature cricket legends from around the globe, marking a significant addition to the sport's landscape.

The announcement was made at the Shangri-La in New Delhi where cricket icons Parthiv Patel from India and Bret Lee from Australia were present as brand supporters. The league's CEO, former Ranji player Vishal Sharma, shared details about the teams, the schedule, and the players who will be part of this cricket extravaganza.

Legends Intercontinental T20 League Teams

The tournament will feature seven teams: Indo Kings, Asian Avengers, Euro Rangers, American Mavericks, Trans-Tasman Titans, African Lions, and Caribbean Vikings.

They will compete in a single round-robin format, with the top four teams moving on to the knockout stage. Fans can look forward to 24 matches, with two matches scheduled each day. The semi-finals are planned for August 27, leading up to the grand finale on August 28.

Mr Sharma expressed his enthusiasm for the league, highlighting the growing interest in cricket in the USA. He emphasised the league's aim to introduce legendary cricketers to new fans in the USA, celebrating the achievements and talent that have made cricket a beloved sport worldwide. "This is the beginning of something special," Sharma noted, acknowledging the presence of cricket stars such as TM Dilshan and Graeme Swann at the announcement.

TM Dilshan shared his excitement about participating in the league, reminiscing about past on-field battles and expressing eagerness to relive those memories. Bret Lee echoed this sentiment, looking forward to reconnecting with former rivals and enjoying the camaraderie that the sport brings.

Other cricket legends like Graeme Swann, TM Dilshan, and Liam Plunkett have also confirmed their participation in the league's inaugural season. The complete list of players will be revealed as the tournament date approaches, promising a thrilling event for cricket fans.
