The third edition of the Legends League Cricket is all set to start on September 20 at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur. On August 29, the player auction took place in New Delhi where 97 players were picked by six teams.

The third edition of the LLC will feature six teams namely India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, Konark Suryas Odisha, Southern Superstars, Urbanrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Giants. The league will feature retired cricketers from across the globe.

Notably, the newly retired Indian internationals Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik were roped in by Gujarat Giants and Southern Superstars before the Auction. That said, let's take a look at the five most expensive players at the LLC 2024 Auction.

#5. Dhawal Kulkarni (India Capitals) - INR 50 Lakh

Right-arm medium pacer Dhawal Kulkarni, who announced his retirement in February 2024, emerged as the most expensive Indian player at the concluded LLC 2024 Auction as India Capitals signed him for a whopping INR 50 Lakh.

Kulkarni was recently part of the World Championship of Legends when India Champions in July 2024, clinching the title. He bagged eight wickets from six matches in the campaign, playing a crucial role with the ball.

#4. Ross Taylor (Konark Suryas Odisha) - INR 50.34 Lakh

Konark Suryas Odisha roped in the services of the former New Zealand star batter Ross Taylor at a price of INR 50.34 Lakh. Though he was part of the World Giants in the LLC Masters, he is yet to make his LLC debut.

In 281 T20 innings, the promising top and middle-order batter has amassed 6559 runs at an average of 30.64 with 111* being his highest score. He has 34 fifty-plus scores, including one century in the format.

#3. Dan Christian (Manipal Tigers) - INR 55.95 Lakh

Former Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian, who spent most of his time in and around the Australian national team, bagged a spot in the Manipal Tigers franchise after the team signed him for a price of 55.95 Lakh.

Christian recently plied his trade with the Australian Champions in the World Championship of Legends, scoring 215 runs and five wickets in six innings. The premium all-rounder has 5825 runs and 280 wickets in the T20 format.

#2. Chadwick Walton (Urbanrisers Hyderabad) - INR 60.30 Lakh

Chadwick Walton, who was part of the Manipal Tigers franchise in the LLC 2023 season, will be playing for the Ubranrisers Hyderabad side in the LLC 2024 edition. He was signed by the Hyderabad-based franchise at a whopping price of INR 60.30 Lakh.

In the LLC 2023 season, Walton smacked 216 runs from six innings at an average of 36 with 104 being his highest score. He played a pivotal role in propelling the Tigers to a title win over Hyderabad in the final.

#1. Isuru Udana (Urbanrisers Hyderabad) - INR 61.97 Lakh

Isuru Udana, who was the joint-leading wicket-taker in LLC 2023, emerged as the most expensive player at the LLC 2024 Auction after Urbanrisers Hyderabad bagged him at a whopping price of INR 61.97 Lakh.

Udana plied his trade with the India Capitals in the 2023 edition, scalping nine wickets from six innings. The Sri Lankan, who announced his international retirement in 2021, scalped 227 wickets in T20s.
