Lionel Messi To Team Up With Kohli, Sachin, Dhoni, Rohit For Dream Cricket Match? Report Makes Huge Claim

Global football icon Lionel Messi could soon be seen trading his boots for cricket spikes in what might be one of the most unexpected crossovers in sports history.

According to emerging reports, Messi is likely to take part in a cricket match alongside Indian legends such as Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rohit Sharma - possibly at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium on December 14.

Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer (MLS), is expected to visit India from December 13 to 15. Sources suggest that an elite event agency has approached the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to book the Wankhede Stadium for a special exhibition match involving Messi and some of the biggest names in Indian cricket.

A senior MCA official, speaking to national media, stated as per TOI Telugu:
"Messi will be at the Wankhede on December 14. If all arrangements are completed by then, there's a strong chance he'll play a cricket match alongside former and current cricketers. The final schedule will be announced soon."

The idea of Messi sharing the field - not a football pitch but a cricket ground - with Indian cricketing greats has sent fans into a frenzy. While this isn't Messi's first visit to India (he last played a football friendly against Venezuela at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium in 2011), this crossover into cricket would be a completely new experience.

As part of his Indian tour, Messi is also expected to visit Delhi and Kolkata, besides Mumbai. Speculation is rife that this exhibition match could serve as a grand celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and entertainment, bringing together two of the world's most loved sports.

Notably, Kerala's sports minister had recently announced a collaboration between the state and the Argentine Football Association for friendly matches in the near future - further cementing Messi's India connection.

If confirmed, this event could be a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, with global attention turning to Wankhede for a match no one saw coming - Messi, bat in hand, lined up beside India's finest.
