List of records set by Rohit Sharma during his historic 264

Kolkata, Nov 14: India's opening batsman Rohit Sharma set few records during his epic 264 against Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI at Eden Gardens on Thursday (November 13).

Rohit batted full 50 overs and was dismissed on the final ball of the innings. He returned to a standing ovation from his team-mates, fans, blasting his way to 264 off 173 balls (33x4, 9x6). India scored 404/5 and kept Sri Lanka to 251 for a 153-run win. Entire Sri Lankan team could not match Rohit's individual score.

Here are the records set by Rohit on Thursday


  • 264 - Highest individual ODI score, surpassing Virender Sehwag's 219
  • 2 doubles - First batsman in ODI history to score 2 double centuries. His previous double (209) was against Australia at Bangalore in November, 2013
  • 33 fours - Most number of fours in an innings in ODIs. Previous best was 25 by Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag during their double century knocks
  • 264 - Second highest score in List A matches (all 50 over games). The highest ever is 268 by Alistair Brown of England. Brown hit 268 for Surrey against Glamorgan in a county game in 2002
  • 173 balls - Highest number of balls faced by a batsman in a single ODI innings
  • 264 - 6th highest individual score by an Indian in international matches (across all formats). The Top-5 are all from Tests - 319, 309, 293 (All 3 from Virender Sehwag), 281 (VVS Laxman), 270 (Rahul Dravid)
