LLC Masters 2023: Winners, Prize Money, Full List of Awards, Stats

Shahid Afridi-led Asia Lions defeated World Giants by seven wickets to win the Legends League Cricket Masters 2023 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Monday.

Opting to bat first, Shane Watson-led World Giants posted 147/4 in 20 overs. Three wickets fell inside the powerplay overs but Jacques Kallis and Ross Taylor came to the rescu, forging a 92-run partnership off 69 balls.

Kallis scored 78 unbeaten runs off 54 balls while Taylor chipped in with 32 off 33. Former Bangladesh spinner Abdur Razzak dismissed Giants opener Morne Van Wyk and Watson to finish with figures of 2/14 in four overs.

In reply, the Sri Lankan duo of Upul Tharanga (57 off 28) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (58 off 42) gave a flying start to their team. They forged together a 115-run partnership in just 59 deliveries before Brett Lee castled Tharanga on the last ball of the tenth over.

Dilshan was clean bowled by Samit Patel in the 14th over, while Monty Panesar removed Abdul Razzaq for three in the 15th over. But those breakthroughs came late and Asia Lions finished the 148-run chase on the first ball of the 17th over. Mohammad Hafeez and Misbah-Ul-Haq remained unbeaten on 9 runs each.

Legend of the Match: Abdur Razzak

Asia Lions left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak was named Legend of the Match in the final of Legends League Cricket Master 2023 against World Giants. He struck twice in the powerplay to finish with match figures of 2/14 in four overs.

Legend of the Tournament: Upul Tharanga

Asia Lions openers Upul Tharanga was adjudged Legend of the Tournament. He finished LLC Masters 2023 as the leading run-scorer. The 38-year-old southpaw scored 221 runs in six matches at an average of 36.83 and a strike of 137.26. On the night of the final, he smashed 57 off just 28 balls.

LLC Masters Prize Money: The champion side received prize money of Rs 2 while the runners-up were awarded with Rs 1 crore in the 2022 season. LLC Master Prize Money is unknown for this season.

• Asia Lions opener Upul Tharanga top-scored in the tournament. He accumulated 221 runs six matches and was followed by India Maharajas captain Gautam Gambhir (215 n 4 matches) and Lions teammate Tillakaratne Dilshan (191 in 6 matches)

• Asia Lions Sohail Tanveer picked the most wickets. His seven scalps in six matches one more than his teammate Abdur Razzak and World Giants' Brett Lee's tally of six wickets each. Giants pacers Chris Mpofu, Tino Best and Indian Maharajas spinner Harbhajan Singh also finished with six wickets

• Robin Uthappa's unbeaten 88 off 39 was the highest individual score in the LLC Master 2023

• Uthappa's also carried the highest strike rate of 173.41 in the series

• Gautam Gambhir and Upul Tharanga scored the most fifties in the LLC Master 2023. They smashed 3 fifties each

• Tharanga finished with 8 sixes - the most in the LLC Master 2023. He was followed by Misbah-Ul-Haq (7) and Uthappa (6)

• Abdur Razzak had the best economy rate of 5.66 in the tournament

• Harbhajan Singh's bowling figures of 4/13 in two overs against World Giants was best in the tournament
