Longest Six in ICC World Cup 2023: New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell has smashed the biggest maximum of the ongoing tournament with a 107 meters hit during the semi-final clash against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Mitchell surpassed India's Shreyas Iyer's distance of a 106 meters hit against Sri Lanka in the league phase at the same venue in Mumbai. The Indian had also hit a 101 meter six earlier in the tournament against Afghanistan in Delhi.

Australia's Glenn Maxwell with a 104 meter hit had held the top spot until Iyer cleared the distance on Thursday (November 2). Maxwell had struck the biggest maximum in the high-scoring match against New Zealand at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Iyer's distance for longest six was breached by Mitchell on Wednesday (November 15). In the same match, India's KL Rahul also struck a mammoth 104 meter hit in the semi-final against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (November 15).
Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman and Australian opener David Warner also feature the top 10 for the longest sixes in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in India. Here is a look at the 90 plus meters sixes list:
There has been calls from cricketers past and present calling for the longest hits to be considered more than six runs. However, the result still remains the same how much ever farther the ball travels.
The tournament in India has also seen the most sixes struck by a team in a single World Cup as South Africa took their tally to 82 maximums, surpassing the previous best of 76 sixes in the 2019 World Cup.
More sixes record may be in sight during the rest of the tournament as Rohit Sharma closes in on Chris Gayle for most sixes in ODI World Cup history and the total number of sixes in a single World Cup was also breached in the 2023 edition.
