Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik smashed the longest six in IPL 2024, having hit a 108-meter maximum against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 30 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday (April 15).
Karthik surpassed the previous biggest maximum of 106 meters jointly held by SRH's Heinrich Klaasen, Lucknow Super Giants' Nicholas Pooran and Kolkata Knight Riders' Venkatesh Iyer.

Klaasen had joined the likes of Pooran and Venkatesh Iyer with the longest hit earlier in the first innings of match 30. All the three 106 meter sixes coincidentally had come against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Earlier, Ishan Kishan of Mumbai Indians had struck a 103 meter hit against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday (March 27) a the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Before Kishan, Andre Russell had topped the charts with a 102 meters hit in Kolkata Knight Riders' match against SRH at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday (March 23). Tristan Stubbs also has hit over a 100m this season. Here is a look at the IPL 2024 Longest Sixes:
However, that longest hit distance can soon be breached with several other big-hitters, including Liam Livingstone and Faf Du Plessis, who scored the longest six in IPL 2022 and IPL 2023 respectively still in action.
Also, the likes of Livingstone, Rovman Powell, MS Dhoni, Romario Shepherd and Will Jacks all have the power to clear most grounds, and are likely to takeover the top spots when they get the chance later in the season.
Coming back to the match, Klaasen's Sunrisers Hyderabad smased the highest total in IPL history, breaking their own record set earlier in the season. SRH rode on Travis Head's century and Klaasen's fifty to set a total of 287/3 in 20 overs. In response, Karthik smashed a quickfire fifty to take RCB within reach of the target.
