Fierce pace trio of Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada and Anirch Nortje were too hot to handle on Wednesday (June 26) night as South Africa bundled out Afghanistan for the lowest total in T20 World Cup semi-finals.
Jansen (3/16) and Rabada (2/14) ripped through the Afghanistan top-order, reducing them to 28 for five inside the Powerplay, while Nortje (2/7) and Tabraiz Shamsi cleaned up the lower order to finish the Afghan innings at 56 All Out in just 11.5 overs.

In response, South Africa evaded early setback of losing Quniton de Kock as Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks scored unbeaten 20 plus scores to chase down the target in 8.5 overs.
Opting to bat first, Rashid Khan's side lost their in-form opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz for a duck in the very first over, falling to Jansen, who later got rid of Gulbadin Naib (9 off 8 balls) and Nangeyalia Khan (2 off 7 balls).
Rabada also didn't waste time removing Ibrahim Zadran (2 off 5 balls) and Mohammad Nabi for a duck in the same over before Nortje and Shamsi claimed the remaining wickets.
While Azmatullah Omarzai (10 off 12 balls) was the highest scorer with the bat, 13 extras was the highest contributor to Afghanistan innings as they posted their lowest totals in T20Is and also the second lowest scores by a full nation team in the T20 World Cup.
As mentioned earlier, 56 All Out is Afghanistan's lowest score in the shortest format with the previous lowest coming against Bangladesh in the 2014 when they posted 72 All Out. Here is a look at Afgahnistan's lowest totals in T20Is:
