LPL 2023 Auction: Pre-Selected Players, Complete Auction Players List and All you need to know

The 4th edition of the Lanka Premier League will get its first-ever player auction as the five franchises will battle it out in the auction table and formulate the squad.

LPL's upcoming season will start on July 31 and on the auction, a total of 360 players will go under the hammer. Among them, 140 overseas players have also been shortlisted and former India star Suresh Raina is among the names.

Apart from Raina, big names like Chris Lynn, Shoaib Malik, Imran Tahir, Sikandar Raza and others will be up for the auction and go under the hammer. Sri Lanka's international players like Dushmantha Chameera, Kusal Perera, Dinesh Chandimal and others will be also up for grabs in the auction.

Date: Wednesday, June 14

Time: The auction is expected to begin at 2.30 pm IST on Wednesday.

Venue: Hotel Shangri-La, Colombo (Sri Lanka)

Fans from India can live stream the auction process though. Sri Lanka Cricket's YouTube Channel will stream the auction in India, Sri Lanka and other countries. Facebook users can also live stream the auction through Sri Lanka Cricket's official Facebook page.

LPL 2023 Pre-selected Players List

Many of the star players have been already signed by the LPL franchises on a three-year deal. The basis of their signing has been with a three-year contract which can be further extended or the player can be released by the franchise.

LPL 2023 Auction Rules

The Lanka Premier League 2023 auction players have been divided into two categories - capped and uncapped.

Capped players have a base price ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 with $10,000 increments in every bid.

The uncapped players have been divided into three further groups. Players with 50 or more first-class matches can register themselves with a base price of $20,000. A player with a minimum of 25 first-class matches or 18 T20 League franchise matches at any level can register themselves with a base price of $10,000. Players beneath this criteria will be able to register themselves with a $5,000 base price.

During the auction, the first 70 players will be going through a detailed auction. After that, players will be going under the hammer in an accelerated auction, where all the franchises will have to nominate 15 to 20 players and those selected players can be auctioned then.
