KL Rahul's chances of participating in the IPL 2024 has taken a major boost as the Indian player looks likely to feature in the tournament, according to reports.
The 31-year-old cricketer, who featured in the first Test of the five-match series against England, had to step back due to discomfort in his right quadriceps. However, recent developments suggest a positive turn in Rahul's recovery trajectory.

After encountering pain in his right quadriceps, Rahul sought medical advice from top experts in London. Post-consultation, he returned to India last Sunday and entered the rehabilitation process at the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
Despite being named in the squad with hopes of making a comeback by the third Test against England, Rahul's fitness was not deemed up to the mark, leading to his absence from the remaining matches of the series. The BCCI later confirmed that he would not participate in the final match either, citing the quadriceps injury.
The Times of India reported that Rahul is on a steady path to full fitness and is expected to secure his fitness certificate from the NCA shortly. This certification is crucial for his participation in the upcoming IPL 2024, where he is set to lead the Lucknow Super Giants.
Moreover, his performance in the IPL is seen as a key factor for his selection in India's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Rahul's last appearance in a T20I was during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, hence the batter will have to conjure up a decent show in the IPL to warrant his place in the India squad.
