Lucknow Super Giants are set for a strong retention contingent ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Despite missing out on the playoffs last season, LSG have kept some of their top performers from last season.
The Lucknow-based franchise, owned by the RPSG Group, has retained five players from last season, but have left out captain KL Rahul from the roster.

Lucknow Super Giants have opted to retain Nicholas Pooran for Rs 21 crore, as the West Indies star is their first pick. India's pace sensation Mayank Yadav has been retained for Rs 11 crore, whereas spinner Ravi Bishnoi is set to extend his stay at the franchise for Rs 11 crore.
Along with that, LSG have also decided to keep two uncapped Indian players. Left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan and batter Ayush Badoni both are set to continue with the franchise for the upcoming IPL cycle. Badoni, a young batter from Delhi, has scored some important runs for them and is definitely a top player to have in the ranks. Although Mohsin's stint with LSG has been marred with injuries, he picked up 10 wickets for LSG last season. Badoni, on the other hand, played all 14 matches for the franchise and scored 235 runs.
Zaheer Khan's arrival at the LSG helm is said to be key behind the pacers' retentions, especially Mohsin Khan. The Supergiants failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2024 and will now be hoping for a good auction to conjure up a strong squad for next season and beyond.
| Player | Role | Age | Retention Price (in INR) |
| Nicholas Pooran (WI) | WK-Batter | Rs 21 crore | |
| Mayank Yadav (IND) | Fast Bowler | Rs 11 crore | |
| Ravi Bishnoi (IND) | Spin Bowler | Rs 11 crore | |

LSG have used their full quota of uncapped retentions, with a total spending of Rs 51 crore for the five players who shall continue with them from last season. The franchise will now arrive in the IPL 2025 auction with a purse of Rs 69 crore and will have one Right-to-Match (RTM) card to exercise to bring back one of their released players.
