"This ground has some of the longest boundaries and that's what you want to see with the kind of power that the batters exhibit nowadays. As a spinner I don't think you would like this pitch as there's a lot more grass on this surface. Grass being left on the pitches now to ensure they don't crumble and also because India have discovered so many new fast bowlers," Sunil Gavaskar had ahead of the LSG vs DC match at Ekana Stadium.
"All of them are making the ball fly. Every team is encouraging the groundsman to put a little more grass. The ball will come on to the bat nicely and if you are a good player, you can make use of the pace and bang the ball around. We can see a lot more runs despite the big boundaries," he had added.
Lucknow opted to bat first and posted 167/7 in 20 overs. Pacers picked four wickets, while left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with game-changing three wickets.
In reply, Delhi chased down the target with six wickets and 11 balls to spare. Pacers picked two wickets, while leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi chipped in with other two scalps. Team winning the toss has opted to bat first in all three matches so far in Lucknow. Delhi are the only team who won while chasing.
No chances of rain in Lucknow on Friday, April 19. With a humidity level of 20-25 percent in the evening, the temperature will hover around 35 degree celsius. The wind speed at the venue will be close to 20 km/h.
