MS Dhoni added yet another remarkable milestone to his illustrious IPL career by becoming the first player ever to record 200 dismissals in the history of the tournament.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) veteran wicketkeeper achieved the feat during Match 30 of IPL 2025 against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The historic moment came in the 14th over of the LSG innings when Ayush Badoni was stumped off Ravindra Jadeja's bowling, marking Dhoni's 200th dismissal. It was yet another display of Dhoni's lightning-quick glovework, a trait that has defined his career behind the stumps.
But he didn't stop there - Dhoni went on to claim two more dismissals in the match, showing he's still sharp as ever in his role.
After the stumping, he caught LSG skipper Rishabh Pant off Tushar Deshpande when Pant was batting on 63 off 49 deliveries. Later, he pulled off a stunning run-out of Abdul Samad, collecting a wayward delivery from Matheesha Pathirana and firing in a direct hit to catch the batter short at the non-striker's end.
Thanks to this three-dismissal effort, Dhoni now holds 201 dismissals in 270 IPL innings, made up of 155 catches and 46 stumpings. His closest rival on the list is Dinesh Karthik, with 182 dismissals.
Earlier in the match, LSG posted a total of 166/7 in their 20 overs. Rishabh Pant, leading from the front, struck form with a solid 63 off 49 balls. He found support from Mitchell Marsh (30 off 25), Ayush Badoni (22 off 17), and Abdul Samad (20 off 11).
