LSG vs CSK Toss Update, Playing 11 IPL 2025 Match 30: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni opted to bowl first after winning the toss against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 14, 2025 (Monday).
After winning the toss MS Dhoni said: "Well blessed, we get good support. Thank you all the fans. We want to bowl first, there's chances of dew here. The wicket gets better. It's important to set the right temperament.

"We haven't been consistent with our batting. With the ball we have strong back strong. It's important to have a positive mindset, play those big shots. It's a matter of time. We have a couple of changes. Overton and Rasheed come in for Ash and Conway."
Meanwhile, LSG captain Rishabh Pant said: "It's just amazing. We would have bowled first. In Lucknow it's slower in the first innings, but gets better gradually. The only thing we talked about CSK is that we don't want to give them an opening, just need to give our 100%. We want to go out there and play good cricket. Only one change - Marsh comes back in for Himmat Singh."

The LSG vs CSK clash will be played on Pitch No. 5, located centrally on the square with 66-meter square boundaries and a 73-meter straight boundary. The surface is a blend of 70% black soil and 30% red, suggesting variable pace. Some areas show grass cover, while others are bare, likely leading to inconsistent bounce.
Batting is expected to be easier early on when the ball is hard and new. As the match progresses, pace-off deliveries could become more effective, making variations crucial for bowlers, especially seamers, later in the innings. Adapting to conditions will be key for both teams.
