Lucknow Super Giants are up against Chennai Super Kings in Match 34 of IPL 2024 on Friday (April 19).
LSG and CSK are set to face for the first time this season and both teams would aim for a victory for different reasons. Chennai would be hoping to solidify their position in the playoff race while Lucknow aim to get into the race by entering in the top four of the points table.

Lucknow and Chennai Super Kings have an equal share of results in their previous meetings. Out of the three meetings in the past, LSG and CSK have won each while one match ended without a result courtesy of the heavens.
Here, let's have a look at what happened when LSG and CSK met in IPL 2023-
In this match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Super Kings registered a victory by 12 runs.
CSK scored 217 for 7 batting first as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway paved the path with a decent opening partnership. The duo added 110 runs, Gaikwad scored 57 while Conway scored 47 runs. Despite a stutter in the middle overs, MS Dhoni powered them to 217 with a knock of 12 off just 3 balls.
LSG made a valiant chase out of it as KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers went off to a flying start. But as Mayers fell after scoring 53, the Lucknow side kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. In the end, they could only manage 205 and lost the match by 12 runs. Moeen Ali was the star of the CSK bowling with 4 wickets and the Englishman was awarded as the Player of the Match.
The BRSAVB Ekana Stadium hosted this match and LSG batted first. On a slow track, they could manage 125 for 7 in 19.2 overs when the heavens opened up. The relentless rain continued and thus abandoned the match. The two teams shared the spoils.
