Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will look to carry forward their winning streak and avenge the reverse fixture loss when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 54 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday (May 5).
KL Rahul-led LSG head into the match on the back of a 4-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in their last outing, while Shreyas Iyer’s KKR are also fresh from an impressive 24-runs victory over the same opposition.

LSG rode on Marcus Stoinis fifty to chase down 145 in Lucknow against MI last time out, while KKR rode on Venkatesh Iyer fifty followed by an all-round bowling effort to defend 169 against MI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in their most recent match.
LSG will aim to move up the table to strengthen their chances of a playoff finish when they face second-placed KKR, who also will have similar aspiration as the tournament enters climax stage.
The two playoff aspiring sides will clash for the fifth time in the lucrative league, and clash at the Lucknow venue for the very first time. Here is a look at the head to head numbers of KKR vs LSG:
In the 4 KKR vs LSG head to head meetings in IPL, it’s LSG, who has the clear advantage, having beaten the two-time champions in three of four previous matches. KKR, however, won the most recent meeting at the Eden Gardens.
In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Mitchell Starc's spell of 3 for 28 and Sunil Narine's figures of 1 for 16 in 4 overs helped restrict LSG to 161 before Phil Salt smashed an unbeaten 89 off 47 balls to power KKR to an 8-wicket victory with 26 balls to spare.
In the 3 meetings prior to the reverse fixture, LSG had defended scores on all three occasions in which two were very close contests, including the one that almost saw Rahul and Quinton de Kock’s record-breaking stand go in vain. Here is a look at LSG vs KKR stats:
