In Match 48 of the IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants will welcome the five-time champion Mumbai Indians at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday (April 30).
Both of them have met three times in the past, and LSG has won three of them. MI's only victory was in the last IPL's eliminator.

LSG have won five of the nine games they played and are sitting fifth with 10 points. MI have managed to win only three games so far, playing the same number of matches as their opponent, and as a result, they pushed at the ninth of the table.
LSG have a balanced squad this season but seriously lacks experience. The injury to Mayank Yadav also came as a blow for them. Now there are reports that Yadav is fit, has started to train with the team, and can be seen in the match as an impact player.
Matt Henry, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan will lead the pace attack, while the spin department will be spearheaded by Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya.
Despite having bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Nuwan Thusara, Mumbai's below-average bowling performances cost them many matches this season.
Though Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee have been excellent throughout the campaign, others have failed to make any impact. Gerald Coetzee had missed the last match; it is not sure if he will return in this match or not.
Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Nuwan Thusara will lead the pace attack for MI, while Piyush Chawla and Mohammad Nabi will manage the spin department.
Ravi Bishnoi (LSG): The Indian right-arm offspinner has 58 wickets in his IPL career with an economy rate of 7.73. The 23-year-old will be crucial against Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, as he has dismissed them multiple times in the past. Bishnoi will also play a vital role in stopping Mumbai batters from getting a big score at the big ground of Ekana Stadium.
Mayank Yadav (LSG): The 21-year-old pacer is currently one of the fastest bowlers in India. His ability to bowl at 150 kph plus speed with excellent accuracy made him a valuable future prospect for India.
In IPL 2024, the right-arm fast bowler has already picked up six wickets in two matches. After playing two and a half matches this season, he was forced to retire due to an injury. Now, after a brief break, he is back with the squad. Some excellent deliveries can be expected from him.
Jasprit Bumrah (MI): The 30-year-old Indian right-arm fast bowler has been phenomenal in this IPL. He is leading the race for the Purple Cap with 14 wickets in nine matches.
His unorthodox bowling action, fuelled up with tremendous speed and pin point accuracy, made him one of the most lethal pacers in the death overs.
Bumrah is also known for his meagre economic rate. In this season, he has an economy rate of just 6.67 after nine matches. He will be expected to perform on a similar note against the Super Giants.
Gerald Coetzee (MI): The 23-year-old South African pace has already bagged 12 wickets this season. The right-arm fast bowler has some concerns about leaking too many runs. If Coetzee stays fit for the remaining matches of the season, along with Bumrah, he can turn the table for the Mumbai Indians.
At this point in the league, this match will be very crucial for both franchises. A loss at this time could literally throw out the visitors from the tournament.
Whereas for the host, there is very tight competition in the upper half of the points table. A win could be a big relief for them to keep up their play-off dream. Hence, a highly competitive match is expected from this fixture.
