Rohit Sharma is missing the IPL 2025 match today (April 4) between the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
At the Toss, MI captain Hardik Pandya mentioned that the India captain will not be playing the match.

Rohit Sharma has reportedly injured his knee during training. And that is why he is missing the match against Lucknow Super Giants today. The India captain has been struggling with form, but it is an injury which is likely to rule him out for the first match of this season in the IPL. Hardik Pandya confirmed the news at the toss.
"Rohit was hit on the knee. He is missing out," Hardik Pandya said at the Toss.
Pandya also mentioned that star pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be coming back soon to the side. The India pacer has been missing the IPL season so far after suffering a lower back injury in January. He is expected to miss out two more games before getting the clearance from BCCI.
"Jasprit should be back soon," Pandya added as he won the Toss and opted to bowl first.
MI have included Raj Bawa as Rohit's replacement for the match, while Vignesh Puthur has also been included along with Ashwani Kumar.
Rohit Sharma has so far failed with the bat in the IPL 2025 season. He scored a duck against CSK and then managed only 8 and 13 runs against Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.
