Royal Challengers Bangalore have returned to winning ways with an 18-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (May 1).
RCB secured a huge win at the Ekana Stadium, defending just 126 runs in the match. LSG were bundled out for 108 runs.

Batting first, RCB scored 126/9 in their 20 overs. Faf du Plessis was the highest scorer with 44 runs off 40 balls. Naveen-ul-Haq picked up 3 wickets, along with a brace for both Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra.
Chasing the target, LSG suffered early setback as their skipper KL Rahul couldn't bat due to an injury. LSG were struggling at 38/5 at one stage, and despite a small glimmer of hope thanks to K Gowtham (23 off 13), LSG failed to achieve the target. Six RCB bowlers were among the wickets as RCB secured a huge victory by 18 runs.

Faf du Plessis (RCB Captain) (Player of the Match): "Opposite pitch. We played really well in first 6 overs like we play in Chinnaswamy. I think batting first was important. It looked like right through that spinners were difficult to score."
"I would have wanted 135, in my mind it was a really good score. Once again, it is tough to score. We felt it was a match-winning score. And with KL not in the batting order, we knew it will be hard work.

126 - This was the joint lowest target defended by RCB in IPL history. They defended after scoring 126 runs against CSK in 2008 as well.
None of the batters could score past 25 runs for Lucknow Super Giants.
5 - Virat Kohli was stumped on Monday, which is the 5th time in his IPL career.
Faf du Plessis got his Orange Cap back after a decent 44 runs with the bat. He now has 466 runs in IPL 2023 season.
RCB won the match despite hitting just 6 fours and 2 sixes in their entire inning.
