In a thrilling conclusion to the league stage of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pulled off a stunning six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium. Chasing a daunting target of 228, RCB completed the chase in just 18.4 overs, marking their highest successful chase in IPL history and the third-highest overall in the tournament.
LSG's innings was anchored by captain Rishabh Pant, who blasted an unbeaten 118 off 61 balls. He was well-supported by Mitchell Marsh, who chipped in with a fiery 67, taking LSG to a formidable 227/3.

RCB's chase began with a rapid 54 from Virat Kohli, but the innings wobbled with a flurry of wickets, reducing them to 123/4. From that point, it was a sensational comeback led by a 107-run unbeaten partnership between Jitesh Sharma (85* off 33 balls) and Mayank Agarwal (41* off 23), which guided RCB home and secured their berth in Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings.
The match turned decisively in RCB's favour when Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal joined forces at 123/4 with the asking rate climbing steeply. The pressure was immense, but Sharma and Agarwal rose to the occasion with a calculated yet aggressive counterattack.
Jitesh Sharma, leading the side in Rajat Patidar's absence, played a captain's knock. His half-century came in just 22 balls and his intent never wavered even under high stakes. A critical turning point came when Sharma, on 49, was dismissed but called back due to a back-foot no-ball, an incident that dramatically shifted momentum.
Mayank Agarwal supported him perfectly with clean strokes and clever rotation of strike, ensuring there was no pressure buildup. Together, the duo decimated the LSG bowling in the death overs, finding boundaries with ease and keeping RCB ahead of the rate.
