The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is set to host five of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru matches in the IPL 2026, along with the Qualifier 2 and the Final.
Chinnaswamy, an iconic venue that hosted the first-ever IPL match in 2008, has been under scrutiny but has managed to secure clearance from the Karnataka Government to host matches.

Established in 1969 with construction starting in 1970 under Karnataka government patronage, it was initially called Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium before being renamed after former BCCI president M. Chinnaswamy. The stadium hosted its first first-class matches in the 1972-73 season and gained Test status in 1974-75 during West Indies' tour, featuring legends like Viv Richards.
With a seating capacity of around 40,000, it features floodlights, Pavilion End, and BEML End, and serves as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL home ground.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 opener on Saturday (March 28), and after that, RCB will play four more matches at the Garden City.
