Bengaluru, August 10: Former India player and coach Madan Lal blasted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for announcing Rs 15 lakh reward for men and women selectors for picking up a 'good' team.

The 1983 World Cup winner posted the opinion on his official twitter handle - @Madanlal1983. His post read: "Surprise to read that sectors are rewarded 15L to pick the best team. They suppose to pick the best team not bad team."

The decision was taken at a meeting between the BCCI office bearers and the Committee of Administrators (CoA) in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Both Indian men's and women's team finished runners-up in their last ICC events - the Champions Trophy and Women's World Cup and both the events held in England.
