The first-ever Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) for the Scindia Cup, a franchise-based professional T20 cricket league, kicks off on Saturday (June 15) with the league phase followed by the two-match playoff round on June 22 and 23.

A total of five teams will be contesting in this tournament, across 12 matches which is being organized by the Gwalior Division Cricket Association (GDCA) with the backing of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA).

The opening match will see the Gwalior Cheetahs taking on the Malwa Panthers, featuring star TATA IPL batsmen Venkatesh Iyer (Gwalior Cheetahs) and Rajat Patidar (Malwa Panthers).

All teams will play each other twice in the group stage matches and the team that finishes on top will advance to the finals. The second and third-placed teams will play each other in the eliminator.

Where is the MPL Season 1 taking place?

All 12 matches including the Eliminator and the final will be staged in a single venue in the space of 9 days at the new MPCA International Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.
