Madonna's 'close pal' A-Rod 'tested positive for steroids in 2003'

By Super Admin

New York, Feb 8 (ANI): Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, who's hitting the headlines these days because of his close friendship with singer Madonna, tested positive for anabolic steroids in 2003, according to sources.

Name of Rodriguez, baseball's biggest superstar, landed on a list of 104 players who tested positive for steroids during Major League Baseball's 2003 survey testing season, the sources said.

The list was supposed to remain confidential, reports the New York Daily News.

The positive test was first reported on Sports Illustrated's Web site Saturday morning.

"This is a mess," a Rodriguez associate said.

"I'm not sure how he's going to take this. He's never had to deal with anything like this before,'" the associate added.

According to the SI report, Rodriguez tested positive for testosterone and the anabolic steroid Primobolan.

He was the American League MVP that season with the Texas Rangers and winner of the home run title. (ANI)
