The KSCA Maharaja Trophy 2025 has started in an electric fashion as the first match of the tournament saw a loads of runs scored in the very first over, and some erroneous bowling.
Gulbarga Mystics and Mangalore Dragons are playing the tournament opener and the first over of it saw 21 runs conceded, including an 8-ball over, courtesy of a No ball and a Wide.

On August 11, 2025, during the Maharaja Trophy T20 match, Lochan Gowda, a promising batsman for Mangalore Dragons, delivered an explosive start against the Dragons.
In the first over, Gowda scored 21 runs off 6 balls, including a four, a two, and a boundary. Mystics pacer Monish Reddy was wayward in his first over and has now become part of one of the most expensive start to a tournament.
Despite the poor start, Reddy came back strongly later, claiming 2 wickets for his team. Gowda, despite his explosive start, ended up getting dismissed for 27 runs in 21 deliveries. Shreyas Gopal is leading the dragons while Vijaykumar Vyshak captains the Mystics in this tournament. The Mangalore Dragons ended up scoring 180 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.
Later in the KSCA Maharaja Trophy, Bengaluru Blasters will be up against Mysore Warriors. The Blasters are captained by Mayank Agarwal whereas Karun Nair leads the Warriors. All of the KSCA Maharaja Trophy matches are being played at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground in Mysore, as Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was deemed unfit to host matches.
