Bengaluru, July 21: South India's premier domestic league, the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 is all set to return next month as the highly anticipated second edition of the marquee tournament is scheduled to be held between August 13 to 29.
In the inaugural edition, Gulbarga Mystics defeated Bengaluru Blasters to clinch the title in the four-team tournament. The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2023 season the tournament sees the addition of two more franchises.

The teams that will compete in the upcoming edition will be the defending champions Gulbarga Mystics, Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Mysuru Warriors, Mangalore Dragons and the rebranded Shivamogga Lions.
Before the action on the field, all the six teams will look to build their squads for the upcoming season during a one-day auction, which will see over seven hundred players go under the hammer.
There is no information available on the full players list and retention rules if any as it stands. However, as per a release by KSCA, the purse, squad size limits and the category of players that will be called out for the bidding process were all revealed.
The likes of Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, Manish Pandey, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Vidwath Kaverappa are set to feature in the top categories of the auction alongside many other top performers from last season.

The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2023 player auction is scheduled to be held on Saturday (July 22) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which will host all the matches of the season.
The auction is scheduled to start at 10 AM IST on Saturday (July 22) and as per the broadcaster, bidding process is likely to end around 7 PM IST on Saturday (July 22).
Each franchise will have a purse of Rs 50 Lakh from which they can bid for players, whose names will be called out for the process in four different categories as follows:
Category A: India and IPL players
Category B: All senior players that have played BCCI State tournaments such as Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ranji Trophy, and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Category C: Players that have played in all other BCCI tournaments
Category D: All other registered players of KSCA
The base price is yet to be revealed for all the four categories, but if last year's model for reserve price is followed, then Category A players will start at Rs 5 Lakhs, Category B at Rs 3 Lakhs, Category C at Rs 1 Lakh, Category D at Rs 50,000.
The Maharaja Trophy auction stipulates that each team must have a minimum of 16 players and no more than 18 players in addition to the two catchment area players from their respective zones.
