The second edition of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, a tournament organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, is set to take place next month, but before that all the teams got the chance to assemble their squads in the first-ever auction.

The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 auction 2023 took on Saturday (July 22) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where over 200 players, including some players that have played for India and the IPL, went under the hammer.

The entire tournament will be held at a single venue in Bengaluru from August 13 to August 29. And stars from Karnataka cricket like Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, Manish Pandey, Vidwath Kaverappa and Vyshak Vijaykumar among others were the top draws.

Six teams involved in the bidding war for players in four different categories - were the Gulbarga Mystics, Mangaluru Dragons, Mysore Warriors, Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers and Shivamogga Lions.

The base price for each category was as follows: Category A (Rs 2 Lakh Base Price), B (Rs 1 Lakh Base Price), C (Rs 50,000 Base Price) & D (Rs 25,000 Base Price). The teams will also have to fill in two slots from their respective catchment area before the tournament starts.

Gujarat Titans batter Abhinav Manohar was the most expensive buy at the auction followed by Mayank, Padikkal and Pandey, who all fetched more than Rs 10 Lakhs. Here is a look at the top buys of every team at the Maharaja Trophy 2023 Auction:

Each team started the auction with Rs 50 Lakh purse and needed to fill their squads with a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 18 players. So, there was a guarantee that at least 80 players would be sold at the auction 2023. Here is a look at the players sold in Maharaja Trophy auction.
