Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 auction took place on Thursday (July 25) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where this season's matches will be staged from August 15 to September 1.
All six teams - Gulbarga Mystics, Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, Mysore Warriors, Mangalore Dragons and Shivamogga Lions will return for another season of exciting action. But before that all the six teams tried building a title-winning squad at the auction.

As every team has retained four players each, at least 72 slots will be filled as hundreds of players will go under the hammer during the bidding process on Thursday (July 25). Here is all the updates from the auction:
And that's a wrap from the auction as all six teams finalize their squads for the upcoming season, which gets underway in Bengaluru from August 15.
The accelerated process finished with 12 players, including the unsold Karnataka pacers Prasidh Krishna and HS Sharath land deals.
The final part, the accelerated process has started as the unsold players return for the auction with 12 slots left to fill.
Ritesh Bhatkal (Gulbarga Mystics for Rs 25,000), Mitrakant Singh Yadav (Hubli Tigers for Rs 35,000), Wahid Faizan Khan (Gulbarga Mystics for Rs 25,000), Abhishek Prabhakar (Gulbarga Mystics for Rs 25,000) and Varun Kumar HC (Bengaluru Blasters for Rs 25,000) wrapped up the auction for Category D players. The auction will resume after a 15-minute break with the accelerated process that will see the unsold player return as teams just need to fill a few more slots.
Mangaluru Dragons completed their quota of 18 players with the signing of Sagar Solanki for Rs 25,000.
Sreesha S Achar landed big money as he was roped in by Hubli Tigers for Rs 2.30 Lakh. The defending champions also signed Daman Deep Singh for a base price of Rs 25,000.
Left arm pacer Lavish Kaushal goes to Bengaluru Blasters for Rs 6.20 Lakh afterFaizan Riaz and Rohan Naveen went to Gulbarga Mystics for Rs 25,000 each, and Rohit K was roped in by Shivamogga Lions for Rs 50,000.
Shivamogga Lions continued to fill up their vacant slots as they roped in Aditya Mani for Rs 1 Lakh, while Bengaluru Blasters buyNiranjan Naik for Rs 27,000 and Deepak Devadiga went to Mysuru Warriors for Rs 65,000. Madhav Prakash Bajaj was roped in by Hubli Tigers for Rs 25,000.
Auction resumes with the last set of players before we head to the accelerated process. Aaditya Vishwa Karma, Dheeraj Mohan and Bharath Dhuri were roped in by Shivamogga Lions for base price of Rs 25,000, while Sanjay Ashwin was roped in by Mangaluru Dragonsfor Rs 29,000.Nathan Joachim D'Mello goes to Gulbarga Mystics for Rs 60,000.
The auction will resume after a short break, starting with the pre-nominated player from Category D. The base price for players in this category starts at Rs 20,000. Once that set is finished, the auction will move into the accelerated process in which the unsold players will be called for bidding again.
Aneeshwar Gautam triggers an intense bidding war between Shivamogga Lions and Hubli Tigers, who finally roped in the young all-rounder for Rs 6.20 Lakh. Earlier,Yashovardhab Parantap went to Gulbarga Mystics for Rs 2.20 Lakh. The auction will now take a short break and resume with the accelerated process, which will feature the unsold players from the four categories.
Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid's son Samit is roped in by Mysuru Warriors, whileRajvir Wadhwa and Avinash D head to Shivamogga Lions, and Yashovardhan Parantap goes to Gulbarga Mystics.
Pranav Bhatia goes to Mangaluru Dragons for Rs 50,000, Varun Rao TN was roped in by Bengaluru Blasters for Rs 65,000, and senior spinner Anand Doddamani bagged Rs 1.90 Lakh bid from Shivamogga Lions to wrap up the spinners from Category C. The auction will now continue with All-Rounders from Category C.
Four wicketkeepers from Category C attracted bids asAadrash Prajwal went to Hubli Tigers for Rs 50,000, Lochan S Gowda went to Mangaluru Dragons for Rs 55,000, Rakshith S is roped in by Bengaluru Blasters for Rs 75,000 and Kruthik Krishna also heads to Hubli Tigers for Rs 50,000. The auction continues for players in Category C with spinners.
Pacers from category C continued to garner more interest as Abhilash Shetty triggers bidding war before going to Mangaluru Dragons for Rs 6.30 Lakh. Monish Reddy and Sharan Goud also found homes in Gulbarga Mystics, while Santokh Singh and Aditya Goyal land in Bengaluru Blasters. Mysuru Warriors landed Danush Gowda, the final Category C pacer.
Goutham Mishra goes to Mysuru Warriors for Rs 2 Lakh, while Aaditya Nair gets snapped up for Rs 55,000. Samarth Nagraj and Sankalp SS land in Mangaluru Dragons for Rs 3 Lakh and Rs 70,000 respectively. Kumar LR goes to Hubli Tigers for the base price of Rs 50,000.
Hubli Tigers and Bengaluru Blasters battled for the last batter to come out of category C, Karthikeya KP, who went to the defending champions for Rs 1.20 Lakh.
Tushar Singh attracts many suitors before Mangaluru Dragons signed the young batter for Rs 1.80 Lakh, while Shivamogga Lions sign Dhruv Prabhakar for base price of Rs 50,000. Lankesh KS also attracts a lot of interest and is finally roped in by Mangaluru Dragons for Rs 4 Lakh.
Harshil Dharmani, a Karnataka Under 23 player lands a deal at Maharaja Trophy T20 for the first time as Mysuru Warriors buy the batter for base price of Rs 50,000.

The auction resumed to a dull start in Category C as several players went unsold until Thippa Reddy was bought by Hubli Tigers for Rs 3.40 Lakh.
The auction is likely to resume at 1 PM IST after the lunch break, in which teams would have discussed about their strategies for the rest of the bidding process.

Some players with IPL experience like Manish Pandey, Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Paddikal, Vyshak Vijaykumar and Karun Nair were among the players retained by the teams ahead of the auction.
The Maharaja Trophy auction stipulates that each team must have a minimum of 16 players and no more than 18 players in addition to the two catchment area players from their respective zones.
The third edition of the Maharaja Trophy T20 KSCA tournament is scheduled to be held next month and the full schedule of the tournament will be announced in the coming weeks.
