Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary, who represented India in 12 ODIs and three T20Is, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Thursday. The 37-year-old last represented India in 2015.
The right-hand batter took to his Twitter handle and posted a picture of him from 2011 he scored his first and only international hundred against West Indies in Chennai 2011, and captioned it writing, "Thank You."

Tiwary played 12 ODI matches for India to score 287 runs at an average of 26.09. The leg-spinner also picked five wickets in the format. His last outing in the format came back in July 2015 against Zimbabwe.
The Howrah-born cricketer also featured in three T20I matches, scoring 17 runs at a strike rate of 88.23.
His best came in first-class for Bengal. Most recently he led the side to the final of Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season where they unfortunately lost to Saurashtra by nine wickets. Tiwary top-scored for his side in the second innings with 68 off 154 balls. Incidentally, the innings became Tiwary's last in his professional cricket career which lasted for almost 19 years.
He scored a total of 9908 runs in 141 first-class matches at an average of 48.56. He smashed 29 hundreds in the red-ball format. Tiwary, who made his India debut in February 2008, also played 169 List A matches to score 5581 runs at an average of 42.28.
The star Bengal batter also featured in the IPL for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). A total of 98 IPL matches from 2008 to 2018 saw him score 1695 runs at an average of 28.73 and a strike rate of 116.98.
Manoj Tiwary is now an active politician and a MLA representing Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress from Shibpur in West Bengal. He won the election in 2021 and is the Sports and Youth minister of the state.
