Buenos Aires, May 21: Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2010, Diego Maradona, the controversial head coach for Argentina, has yet again invited attention for the wrong reasons.
The coach, who was driving to a news conference to unveil Argentina's 23-man World Cup squad, drove over a journalist's foot.
After running over the cameraman's foot, Maradona reportedly yelled insults at him.
"What an asshole you are...How can you put your leg there where it can get run over, man?" he screamed while paramedics rushed to the spot to help the cameraman.
However, a day after the incident, the 49-year-old coach apologised for running over the man's foot with his Mini and gave a statement on this regard to the local prosecutor.
"I'm sorry it happened. I gave a statement to the prosecutor and I hope everything comes out OK," he said.
