By MyKhel Staff

Australia top-order batter Marnus Labuschagne has praised Team India stars Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin in a Question and Answer session held by him on Monday. The 28-year-old was recently in India for the 4-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23.

Labuschagne finished as the second-highest run-scorer from his team after Usman Khawaja. He scored 244 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66. In the third Test which Australia won in Indore, the 28-year-old scored 31 runs in the first innings and 28 unbeaten runs in the second innings.

After flying back to Australia, the number one ranked Test batter in the world, held a Question and Answer session for his fans. One of them requested for a "word" on India captain Rohit Sharma. He did not restrict himself to a word and heaped praise on Rohit.

Replying to the fan, he wrote, "more than 1 word, but watching him bat is easy on the eye - smooth bat swing."

The right-hand batter picked star off-spinner Ashwin when asked to name the best spinner he has faced in his career. Labuschagne then opted to go with Suryakumar Yadav when asked to choose between the Indian superstar and Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.

One of the fans asked Labuschagne to choose one batting partner between Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Kane Williamson. He chose the former India captain Kohli before declaring that he would run a lot of doubles with the former number one ranked batter.

Labuschagne also gave some fun answers during the session. On being asked about his favourite Indian dish, he wrote, "Butter chicken w/ spinach & cheese naan - had it every day for 8 weeks." He sarcastically called Indore his favourite ground in India.

Notably, Indore pitch was initially rated 'poor' by the ICC after the Test match there ended with two days and a session. After an appeal from the BCCI, the 'poor' rating has been changed to 'below average'.
