By Super Admin

Islamabad, Dec. 12 (ANI): Following the objections raised in the audit report of the Auditor-General , the Pakistan Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has constituted a four-member fact-finding committee to examine the 33 cricket grounds developed by the former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management at a cost of 65 million rupees.

"The committee was formed following the Auditor-General of Pakistan's raising an audit objection about the miserable conditions at most of these grounds developed during 2003-08 at a cost of 65 million rupees," The Dawn quoted a senior official of the Pakistan Auditor-General (AGP) office, as saying.

The fact finding would team would be visiting Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan for 'physical verification' of the grounds in the coming days.

"Responsibilities will be fixed and if any official is found guilty of negligence the committee will be communicating the rules and regulations to the PAC," the official added, on conditions of anonymity.

It is pertinent to mention that the AGP had conducted a special audit of the PCB on Sports Ministry's request.

Massive irregularities of around 500 million rupees were unearthed during the audit. (ANI)
