India and Karnataka batter Mayank Agarwal has been admitted to a private hospital in Agartala after he complained of physical distress on Tuesday (January 30).
He suffered a major health scare on board a flight from Agartala to Surat. The Karnataka captain is leading the state in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season.

After boarding the flight, Agarwal complained of a burning sensation in his mouth and throat and was rushed to hospital. It is being reported that the player immediately complained of the issue after drinking from a bottle which is suspected to be a poisonous substance.
MyKhel has exclusively learnt that the player is currently admitted at the ILS Hospitals in Agartala and is currently out of danger. The Hospital management refused to give an update on his health status but the player is said to be doing fine.
He has been given a few blood tests after vomiting and feeling a bit uneasy. The player is also ruled out from the next Ranji match.
Agarwal was en route to Surat to play Railways in their next Ranji Trophy match. The batter led Karnataka to a crucial win in their last Ranji match against Tripura, where they won by 29 runs. He has already scored two hundreds in the ongoing Ranji season and is looking in decent touch.
The 32-year-old has played 21 Tests for India and has amassed 1488 runs at an average north of 41. He has also scored 6 fifties and 2 hundreds in the longest format of the game.
