Mayank Yadav is reportedly set for more time on the sidelines due to an injury as the Team India pace sensation is likely to be ruled out of the upcoming white-ball series against England at home, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs.
Mayank, who has a worrying injury record in his young career, has featured for the Indian team in three T20Is last year after impressing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024, where he announced his arrival by clocking 150kph consistently.

The youngster impressed on his international debut in T20I series against Bangladesh, but an injury once again saw him miss the subsequent tour to South Africa, where India faced the Proteas in four T20Is.
The 22-year-old has not returned to action since and a report from Times of India suggests the promising pacer will be out of action in the tune up games for next month's Champions Trophy 2025.
"He's suffering from a back injury and is unlikely to be fit for the England series. He hasn't even been named amongst the probables for Delhi's first Ranji match of the second leg against Saurashtra from January 23," a source in the BCCI told TOI.
The report further added that the pacer is under rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for the last few months. The young pacer also did not feature in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
His injuries will be a concern for the Indian team management. The youngster, who missed the entire season of IPL in 2023 due to hamstring injury, also missed major part of his debut season of the lucrative league in 2024.
The Indian team management and the Lucknow Super Giants will hope Mayank is fit and available to play in the next few months. Although he has only played in T20Is for India, a speedster like him would be a tempting choice for the national team across formats.
The selectors will pick the Indian team for the England T20Is first as the five-match series begins on January 22 with the opening match in Kolkata. Reports also add that the selectors will pick the side for India's three-match ODI series and the Champions Trophy probably next week.
