Mayank Yadav is poised to make his return to the IPL 2025 season after recovering from a lumbar stress injury and a subsequent toe injury sustained during his rehabilitation.
Having received clearance from the BCCI's Centre of Excellence, Yadav rejoined the Lucknow Super Giants squad on Tuesday (April 15) and is under assessment by the team's medical staff.

The 22-year-old pacer has been a sensation for LSG. He played 4 matches last season and picked up seven wickets. But the pace and accuracy of the youngster left everyone in awe. The control he had with the fearsome pace earned plaudits from pundits and that channelled a selection in the Indian team as well.
But due to another stress fracture at the back, he has been out of action for the last six months. Amid this, Mayank has received clearance from BCCI and has joined the squad, but will still undergo some fitness tests before he can feature in the IPL 2025.
While his exact return date to match play remains unconfirmed, Yadav's reintegration into the squad is a significant boost for LSG, especially given the team's earlier injury challenges among its pace bowlers. His ability to consistently bowl at speeds exceeding 150 km/h adds a formidable edge to LSG's bowling attack.
LSG have their next match on Saturday against Rajasthan Royals and if things fall in places, Mayank Yadav will be in action for the Super Giants in the match. LSG, currently positioned fourth on the points table with four wins from six matches, anticipates that Yadav's return will enhance their performance as the tournament progresses.
Lucknow Super Giants have been marred by injury issues with their pacers this season. They were devoid of all four of their frontline Indian pacers at the start of the season. Mohsin Khan has been ruled out for the season and Shardul Thakur joined as a replacement. Avesh Khan and Akash Deep were also unavailable in the first few games but both have returned to action.
