MI IPL 2024 Squad: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians and rest of the nine franchises are bolstering their squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League season at the IPL Auction 2024 at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai on Tuesday (December 19).
MI have already made one important change for the season as Hardik Pandya was traded from Gujarat Titans and handed the captaincy duty of the team. The decision by the franchise ends Rohit Sharma's successful era at MI as the opener will now only play the role of a batter in the upcoming season.

Mumbai Indians, with 16 points and 8 victories in league play, came third place in the 2023 Indian Premier League. They reached Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans by defeating Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator in Chepauk. MI were eliminated from the competition after losing to Titans in a pivotal match.
In the middle order, Mumbai Indians primarily relied on Suryakumar Yadav. After a couple early setbacks, SKY was able to rally himself by finding a place in the batting order and returned to form with style. Everybody remembers Suryakumar Yadav's century against the Gujarat Titans. This season, SKY finished as the Mumbai Indians' top run scorer with 605 runs in 16 games. He amassed a century and five fifty while batting, with a strike rate of 181.13.
Piyush Chawla, an accomplished leg-spinner for the Mumbai Indians, finished the 2023 Indian Premier League as the team's top wicket-taker. After missing out on a huge auction, Piyush Chawla was given a chance by the Mumbai Indians this season, and his faltering career took a turn for the better. In 16 games for Mumbai, Chawla claimed 22 wickets at an outstanding economy rate of 8.11; during the season, he proved to be a vital partner-breaker for MI.
