MI Trophy Cabinet: From IPL & WPL to ILT20 & SA20 - List of T20 Titles Won by The Mumbai Indians Franchise

Reliance Industries Ltd, owned by Mukesh Ambani, ventured into T20 franchise cricket in 2008 when they founded the Mumbai Indians, which has turned out to be one of the successful sides in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

While they struggled to win a trophy in the early years, MI finally landed silverware in 2011 when they lifted the now defunct Champions League T20 tournament. Mumbai Indians then went on to win first of their record five IPL titles in 2013, when they again won the CLT20 trophy.

Having added IPL trophies to their cabinet in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020, RIL, the owners of Mumbai Indians, started the expansion of the MI franchise by finding teams in the franchise leagues in UAE - ILT20 and South Africa - SA20.

In 2022, MI founded the MI Emirates (based in Abu Dhabi) and the MI Cape Town (based in Cape Town) teams, which compete in the ILT20 and SA20 leagues respectively. In 2023, the MI franchise made their entry into the newly launched Women's Premier League (WPL) and the Major League Cricket (MLC).

While they won the inaugural editions of the WPL as Mumbai Indians, and MLC as MI New York, the MI franchise had to wait a little longer for titles in the ILT20 and the SA20 leagues. MI landed the ILT20 trophy in 2024, and completed their trophy cabinet with the SA20 title in 2025.

The owners of MI have now also ventured in the England and Wales Cricket Board's The Hundred competition by buying 49 percent stake in the Oval Invincibles, two-time champions already. MI will hope to add The Hundred also to their cabinet soon. Here is a look at trophies won by MI so far:

While Ambani family, especially Akash Ambani and Nita Ambani have been a rallying force for their teams, several sporting stars like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Nicholas Pooran, Rashid Khan and Trent Boult have been key to the franchise's success over the years.
