MI vs CSK: Kartik Sharma hits a Massive Six

In the 5th ball of the 14th over, Mitchell Santner bowled a loopy, wide delivery outside off stump. Kartik Sharma stretched forward and smashed it with a lofted drive, sending the ball soaring over the wide long-off boundary for a six. This was another maximum in the over, showcasing Kartik's aggressive six-hitting form. The ball went way back into the second tier of the stands, leaving the commentators in awe.

"Goodness me, What a shot," exclaimed Ian Bishop on-air as Kartik Sharma landed that massive six.

"Look at the smile on his face. A six over extra cover is never easy. It's not a six over long-off but a six where its difficult to hit. It was a shot which would have been six in any ground in the world," Sunil Gavaskar said while commentating in the match.

In a special IPL 2026 auction moment, 19-year-old uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma from Rajasthan fetched a massive ₹14.2 crore from Chennai Super Kings, tying the record for the highest-paid uncapped Indian player alongside teammate Prashant Veer. Starting at a base price of ₹30 lakh, the fierce bidding war highlighted CSK's faith in the young finisher.

Renowned for his explosive power, Kartik is a serial six-hitter. He topped the sixes chart in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, ranked joint-highest in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy's first phase, and smashed 28 sixes in just 12 T20 matches.

As the match continues at Wankhede, CSK are currently 155/4 in the 16th over, with Sanju Samson batting on 68 off 38 deliveries.
