Mumbai Indians (MI) received a much-needed boost as Suryakumar Yadav joined the camp after getting medically cleared to feature in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 ahead of the clash against Delhi Capitals (DC).
Hardik Pandya-led MI, who have lost three in three so far this season, will face DC at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 7). Suryakumar's return will come as a big boost for the team struggling to click.

The five-time champions have got their combination wrong in all three matches despite the availabilty of the other senior players. Now, the T20 sensation's comeback from injury will strengthen the team that is searching for their first win of the season.
Suryakumar had suffered a grade II ankle tear during the T20I series in South Africa, and later endured sports hernia, which required a surgery, further prolonging his time on the sidelines.
The 33-year-old underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) before being cleared to participate in the ongoing IPL 2024. The batting sensation has so far scored 3249 runs including 1 century and 21 fifties in 139 matches at a strike rate of 143.32.
As the star Indian batter is fit and available for selection, it will be interesting to see which player makes way for Suryakumar in the playing 11 for today's match.
It's a no brainer, uncapped youngster Naman Dhir will be the one to make way for the T20 superstar as the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma and skipper Hardik are likely to retain their spots in the playing 11 in most game barring any fitness issues.
MI could also ease Suryakumar into the side by using him as a Impact player with Naman Dhir also likely to be used in the role as the 24-year-old revealed that the senior pro is back.
"Surya is available. He has joined the camp. I don't know about my selection. It is a management decision. I will prepare for the next game. Right now I don't know about it (selection)," Dhir said at the pre-match press conference.
