Mumbai Indians will be taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 51 of IPL 2024 on Friday (May 3) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
KKR are placed 2nd in the table and have 12 points in nine matches. MI are in deep trouble and need to virtually win every match to keep themselves afloat in the playoff race. They are currently 9th in the table with 6 points in ten matches.

KKR won their last match against Delhi Capitals and ended their five-match home streak. MI have lost three matches in a row and need a win desperately to keep their playoff chances alive.
Mumbai Indians suffered a disappointing defeat in the last match against LSG. Gerald Coetzee made a return to the team but it was not effective, but the South African is likely to keep his place. Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma have failed to give them a good start in the last few matches while the bowlers apart from Jasprit Bumrah have failed to pick up wickets. For the KKR match, MI can make a couple of changes as Shreyas Gopal and Romario Shepherd can come in to the side, replacing Piyush Chawla, and probable Mohammad Nabi.
KKR have Harshit Rana unavailable who is banned by BCCI for breaching code of conduct. Vaibhav Arora came in the last match and showcased his class again with three wickets. KKR will have make a call on Mitchell Starc as the Australian was shocking against DC in the last match.
