Punjab Kings registered a memorable victory at the Wankhede Stadium at the expense of Mumbai Indians on Saturday (April 22). It was a fantastic performance by PBKS, who completed their 4th victory of the season.

Punjab Kings scored 214/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Their skipper Sam Curran (55 off 29 balls) scored his first 50 this season, while Harpreet Singh (41 off 28 balls) also batted exquisitely. Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers for MI with a stellar figure of 2/15 in his 3 overs.

In reply, Mumbai Indians came with all guns blazing. Cameron Green (67 off 43 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (57 off 26 balls) played two stellar knocks to get the hosts closer to their target. But in the end, MI could only manage 201/6 and lost by 13 runs.

Arshdeep Singh was the star with the ball for Punjab as the left-arm pacer ended up with figures of 4/29. With 16 runs needed in the last over, Arshdeep only conceded 2 runs and picked up 2 wickets.

Rohit Sharma (MI Captain): "Little disappointed. Made some mistakes in the field and not gonna look too much into it. We have to stay in the game we can't worry too much on this. We have won three and lost three now. We made some errors and have something to look into it.

Quite happy the way Surya and Cameron batted and kept us in the game. A lot of credit to Arshdeep for the way he bowled in the last two overs."

Sam Curran (PBKS Captain & POTM): "Pretty special win. I have had many games here for different sides and it's a positive to win as an away side and defending a total. I don't I should be getting the Man of the Match, I gave myself a chance before batting, the way Jitesh played was superb.

"We had to take responsibility. Hopefully Shikhar will be back soon. I think it's time to give captaincy back to Shikhar after 2 wins out of three. We have some great players, great coaches who have helped me a lot. The coaches have created a great environment and boys are enjoying it. Still a long way to go. It is important that we enjoy ourselves."

250 - Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma became the first Indian player to hit 250 sixes in IPL.

31 - Arjun Tendulkar conceded 31 runs in the match, the joint-most by a bowler in IPL. Earlier this year, Gujarat Titans bowler Yash Dayal conceded the same amount of runs.

114 - MI batter Tim David hit a six which went the distance of 114 metres. It is the 2nd biggest six in the IPL 2023 so far.
