Mumbai, May 8: Mumbai Indians will look to avenge the reverse fixture loss and get back to winning ways when they host Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 54 of IPL 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (May 9).
Both teams will look to keep their playoff hopes alive as Rohit Sharma’s MI and Faf Du Plessis-led RCB will look to bounce back after their recent results against Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals respectively.

As it stands, MI are in sixth position in the IPL 2023 points table, while RCB occupy fifth spot and both teams will be desperate to keep their playoff hopes alive.
RCB will be a confident side following the reverse fixture win. But will be wary of their overall record against Mumbai Indians and their record on visits to the Wankhede Stadium.
In the 31 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, MI lead 17-14 against RCB in the head-to-head battles so far. In the last 6 meetings, however, it’s advantage RCB, who have won five times against MI.
In the reverse fixture, an all-round bowling effort led by Mohammed Siraj helped RCB restrict MI to 171/7 before openers Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli smashed fifties to make short work of the run chase, winning by 8 wickets with 22 balls to spare.
In Mumbai at the Wankhede, MI and RCB have clashed 9 times so far, and it's advantage hosts MI as they have beaten RCB in their home venue 6 times, while the Bengaluru-based side has won 3 times against MI in their own backyard.
