MI vs RCB Playing 11: Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday (April 7) at the Wankhede Stadium.
As Mumbai Indians gear up to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium, both teams are keeping a close watch on the fitness of key players that could shape the outcome of this high-stakes IPL 2025 clash.

Date: Monday, April 7
Time: 7:30 pm IST
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Captains: Hardik Pandya (MI), Rajat Patidar (RCB)
Historically, Mumbai Indians have had the upper hand in this rivalry. Out of 34 matches played, MI have won 19 while RCB have taken 15 victories. However, in recent encounters, RCB have looked more competitive, including a commanding win in their last meeting. The head-to-head record may slightly favour MI, but the recent balance of power has been far more even.

Mumbai Indians have been dealing with a couple of injury concerns that have affected their campaign so far. Most notably, Rohit Sharma missed the previous match due to a knee issue he picked up during a practice session ahead of the game against Lucknow Super Giants. However, there's positive news on that front as he is said to be recovering well and was expected to resume batting in the nets ahead of the RCB fixture. A final call on his availability will likely be taken after assessing his response in training, but signs point to a return for the former captain.
The biggest boost for MI, though, is the availability of Jasprit Bumrah. The star pacer, who has been out since January with a back injury, has completed his rehab and rejoined the squad. He has been training with the team and is expected to be available for selection, which comes as a huge relief for a side that has lacked bite in the death overs.
RCB also had a brief injury scare concerning their most important player-Virat Kohli. The former captain appeared to suffer a finger injury during a fielding attempt in their last game against Gujarat Titans, leading to some concern among the camp. However, the update from within the team suggests there is no serious issue, and Kohli is expected to be fit and available for the clash against Mumbai.
After the defeat against GT, the Bengaluru side do require a better outing this time. They may bring in Jacob Bethell in place of Tim David, who was part of MI setup till last year.
