Mumbai, April 29: Record champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will host inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals in match 42 of IPL 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 30).
Rohit Sharma-led five-time winners MI will look to get back among the wins following their fourth defeat of the season against Gujarat Titans, while Sanju Samson’s RR will look to carry on their winning run following victory over Chennai Super Kings.

While MI will be desperate for a win to get their campaign back on track, RR will look to consolidate their position on top of the IPL 2023 points table. MI will be a confident side heading into the match thanks to their overall head-to-head record over RR.
The hosts have the advantage in this fixture over the years whether the match is played at home or away from home. The visitors, meanwhile, have struggled in their visits to Wankhede Stadium.
In the 27 meetings between the two sides in IPL since 2008, MI hold the advantage having won 14 times against RR, who has won against the Mumbai-based side 12 times, while one match has ended in No Result. In the last 6 meetings also, it’s 4-2 in favour of MI.
In Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium, MI and RR have clashed 7 times so far. It's advantage MI as they have beaten RR in their den 4 times so far, while the Jaipur-based side has won 3 times on their visits to the Wankhede.
