MI vs RR: As Hardik Pandya returns to Wankhede Stadium to lead Mumbai Indians for the first time in IPL history, the five-time champions have rolled a set of rules to be followed by the fans at the iconic venue during the side's match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday, April 1.
Notably, Hardik Pandya has been subject to a lot of booing. There also have been instances when fans have crossed the limit while expressing their disappointment over Hardik Pandya's captaincy. The all-rounder replaced Rohit Sharma as the Mumbai Indians captain in a shock move ahead of the IPL 2024 auction in December.

Hardik Pandya faced massive booing from fans in Mumbai Indians' first match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 30-year-old cricketer led Gujarat to title triumph in their maiden season in 2022, and took them to the finals in the following year aswell.
However, the Gujarat-born star agreed to move back to Mumbai Indians in a record-breaking trade deal. Reports had emerged back, Hardik Pandya returned only on the condition of leading Mumbai, the franchise he left to fulfil his captaincy ambitions with Gujarat Titans.
Hardik Pandya endured similar treatment from fans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The trolling reached next level, after Sunrisers Hyderabad hammered Mumbai bowlers for 277 runs - highest ever team total in IPL history.
Hours before the start of the match against Rajasthan on Monday, Mumbai Indians made a social media post to remind the fans that abusive language and gestures were not allowed at the Wankhede Stadium.
'Offensive and threatening conducts', 'Discriminatory languages and gestures', and 'Throwing of objects', have been mentioned under the 'Prohibited Behaviour' category at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
"Ye dar acha laga," a fan commented on the post by Mumbai Indians. "This will increase trolling for Hardik Pandya," another fan wrote. "Arrest if anyone abuses Nita ji and Hardik bhai," one user commented.
The five-time champions have won both their IPL 2024 matches under new captain Hardik Pandya and are reeling at the bottom of the 10-team points table. They would be aiming to bounce back by winning against unbeaten and upbeat Rajasthan Royals in front of their home crowd.
